My Work

I worked on World Reborn as an Narrative Design Intern for 4 months. I collaborated closely with the narrative and implementation team. I wrote scenes, implemented story and art into scenes, and contributed to brainstorming and review of documents. I also had a role in QA and proofreading for story scenes. I was rehired as a Contract Narrative Designer and Community Marketing Consultant where my updated responsibilities included drafting crucial updates to followers and monitoring the official social accounts. My main tasks were: 

Narrative and Implementation  

Writing
  • Pitched story ideas for quests and backstory for characters.

  • Contributing my own ideas on story aspects and proposing quests within my own story doc.

  • Collaborated with the narrative team and using their guidelines and feedback wrote story scenes to be used in game.

Implementation
  • Learned the in house content management system (CMS)

  • Cleaned up and organized scenes within the CMS.

  • Took written docs and implemented the dialogue into scenes.

    • Also put in the art and variables into scenes.

Document Assistance

Review
  • Delivered feedback and suggestions on story docs.

  • Added unique ideas to brainstorming documents building off the proposed idea.

  • Helping the advancement of design ideas ​building upon key factors in the game.

QA

Testing Assurance
  • After story implementation before the scene went live I would test for:

    • Bugs/mistakes from text or art implementation.

    • Ensuring all of the variables work for branching paths.

    • Animation performance/consistency  

Community Marketing

Writing and Strategy
  • Drafting important community update messages where followers receive detailed information about upcoming game features. 

  • Sitting in on community marketing meetings and discussing strategies for upcoming game feature reveals. 

  • Monitoring the official social accounts by responding, reacting, and reposting. Keeping social engagement consistent with the fans
